Sea Nymph 580 Regal

After suffering an incident with the road, this Sea Nymph came to us in need of extensive repairs to the port side of the hull, with a section of the inner planing strake having completely caved in. Once repairs were approved to commence, we got the boat up off the trailer, masked out & started getting into the prep work for all the fibreglassing. The tricky part of any thru-laminate repair is getting a new laminate bonded on the internal side of the hull before building externally back on top of it. In this instance the delaminated area of the planing strake was opened up enough to get a pre-molded fibreglass section into the gap and bonded down internally so that we could rebuild the external side of the repair without the need of having to gain access into the floor cavity through other means. After all the structural fibreglass repairs were completed, it topped off with a great large scale fairing job to get all repair areas smooth and flat again, prior to colour matching & completing all gelcoat resprays. Once cured, all repairs were cut back & finished to a high gloss, ready for putting back on the trailer & having ready to go. A couple of tow eyes were also fitted to the hull for the convenience of easily hooking up the trailer tie downs!
